Why are Brides wanting to use silk flowers instead of real?

Silk Hydrangeas and Curly Willow

Brides today are going toward using the silk flowers over real. One reason that my brides have told me was that they have one of the bridal party, or the bride or groom that are allergic to flowers and the pollen.

Another common reason brides have told me was that with an outside wedding they attended or been apart of the flowers were starting to wilt and fall. Also if you are partial to very delicate flowers that tend to droop quickly and fall apart if moved around to much.

Silk Wedding flowers are very light weight making the bouquets much easier to handle and transport. They don't need watering and are much more durable ( no worrying about delicate blooms falling apart, sagging, or being stomped on by the flower girl ) Silk flowers can be scented to smell like the real thing without the drawback causing sneezing! Another plus -- a silk bridal bouquet will retain it's beauty and look just as gorgeous on your 25th anniversary as it did on your wedding day.

So with all these assessments the today bride is thinking going silk and she can use any flower anytime of the year. Whether they are in bloom or not. Also with using the silk flowers and having an outside wedding it want limit the type of flowers you have to use to with stand the heat.

Even though through much research there is not a lot of price difference with using the silk over real. Depending on the time and research you have to hit all the sales and coupons to get the best quality silk flowers can be time consuming. A lot of the florist do the silk flowers these days to help with brides budgets and resources. All of that said, everyone agrees that fresh wedding flowers are breathtaking, and even the best silk flowers can't replace the look of a live orchid or the scent of a real rose.
