Nashville's Modern Home Tour

The Modern Home Tour got a southern treat this year.
The company organizes 27 tours across the country. They came to Nashville on November 3, 2012.
This was their first time touring Nashville.

People all over bought tickets for the self-guided tour and viewed the homes from 11 a.m.-5 p.m..
Five homes were shown in the tour. The architects who designed these masterpieces included Bruce Draper, Building Ideas, LLC, Lisa Friedland, and Ryan Thewes. With each home having its own distinct personality, the audience was able to capture the beauty of each one. Whether it was an old home turned new, or freshly built houses. Nashville Event Planning teamed up with Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee, where a portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold were donated to the local chapter.

Alex & Josh's Wedding

Congratulations to Alex and Josh McDonald! The two where married on October 6, 2012. They tied the knot at Stones River Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN. Being an animal lover, it was only natural that Alex incorporate her horses into her big day by making sure they were included in some of the photographs taken. Beautiful touches of purple were added to the "country chic" decor for a pop of color. We set up a picture table topped with mason jars with their pictures and wedding date on them as thank you gifts.
Take a look at these gorgeous pictures taken by Joy Chambers Photography!

Fall Color Palettes

For those of you planning a fall event, you might be running into some obstacles.  One of them being the constriction of feeling like you have to stick with the "oh so common" yellows, oranges and reds for your color scheme.  Though it usually works best to have at least one of these as your base color, you don't have to pair them with each other just because that's what's on the trees.  There are many other options for your fall color palette.  Here are some examples of possible color combinations and what they say about you and your wedding:

Purple and orange: Passionate and energetic

Gold and peach: Subtle and chic

Blue and orange: Compassionate and bold

Green and brown: Fresh and wholesome

As you can see, there are many different options to choose from to give your fall event the pop it needs to stand out, and give the impression you're looking for!

Show your "Pink Pride"!

In honor of breast cancer awareness month, I wanted to dedicate this blog to anyone that has struggled with breast cancer and also to anyone who has had a friend or family member struggle.  Ladies, I think that it's a wonderful idea to support each other and all of the people affected by this terrible disease by incorporating a little pink into your wedding!

A pale pink accented bouquet and bridesmaids' shoes are a great way to have a noticeable, but subtle hint of pink.

Pink centerpieces are timeless and versatile.  They can be classy with a pale rose, or funky with a bright Gerber daisy.

Of course a pink candy buffet would be so fun a delicious for everyone to enjoy now and after the party!
Whether you are wanting an all out pink wedding, or just a subtle hint of blush, there are endless ideas to be able to support the cause!

Halloween inspiration 2012

With Halloween "creeping" up around the corner, I thought I'd throw out some inspiration for party and decor ideas.

Cake pops are still very in, and Halloween is the perfect time to show off those baking skills!

What a neat idea for a cooler!

Black and white decor is great to turn this, usually colorful holiday, into a modern blow out.

Love the candy vase fillers and candy buffets!

I hope this gave you a few ideas for your Halloween get together!

Erin and Kamron's Ceremony

Erin and Kamron's shabby chic wedding was amazing. They are such a sweet couple and so in love! Erin was one of the most laid back brides you could ever meet. From the fruit water for guest as they arrive to the large box of tissue for her dads seat. :) The beautiful ceremony was held under the large tree at Front Porch Farms. Erin made sure to add all the small details to make her and Kamron's special day perfect!
We were so excited to find out, Erin hired Taylor Lord from Texas.
