Elegant Mexican Rehearsal Dinner Party

We loved getting to plan this elegant dinner party for such a lovely couple! We worked with the grooms mother Vicki to make this rehearsal dinner party so special for both sides of the families. They each had in common a music background so when she came to me about planning this dinner I knew of the perfect place to show them.

I took Vicki and Tim (parents of the groom) to one of my favorite venues in Franklin, Tn. the Sound Kitchen! This is a beautiful place to have any dinner party, wedding reception, corporate luncheon, etc. Elegant, music memorabilia, beautiful courtyard, reception studio, can all be found at the Sound Kitchen!

Shelly and Scott had a beautiful ceremony at Harpeth Hills Baptist Church and a lovely reception at the Brentwood Country Club. The ceremony was designed by Nashville Event Planning with the black and white damask with a touch of lime green mixed in to give thattouch of color. The green hydrangeas were a perfect touch!

Colleen and Josh had a beautiful recepiton at Colleen's home where she grew up in Hendersonville. The color scheme consisted of green, ivory and light pinks which accented well with the outdoor setting. Colleen wanted the whole outside area around tent to have twinkle lighting and laterns hanging from the trees to give it that warm elegant feel. I wanted to share a few pictures by Michelle Hines Photography. I can't wait to share these pictures of Erin and Kamron's Shabby Chic engagement. Erin and Kamron are the best friends anyone could ask for and I'm so happy to share their story on NEP.

Here's the story from Erin:

"The night before our 7th year anniversary, I was told I was going over to one of Jenny's (sister) friend's house to take pictures for our blog, then we were going to see the movie "The Help"(never got to see it!). I had been at work all day and did not feel "cute" enough to take pictures, but I went...

As soon as Jenny and I got to the house, she told me to go a head and go down to the barn and she would be down in a minute. She was going to wait for her friend to get there. I stood in the driveway for a few minutes and called Kamron to see if he was off work yet. He answered the phone and said he just got off work and would call me when he got in town. Nothing unusual... our conversation everyday.

I knew it was our anniversary the next day, but still wasn't thinking about any surprises. My sister walked out of the house with her friend (because I was still in the driveway) and she said lets go down to the barn. We walked half way and then she literally shoved me and said go to the barn. I walked a little further down and saw Kamron's car parked beside the barn. I also saw a lot of little twinkling lights.

Kamron was just standing there... I was like OMG this is awesome. It looked like a photo shoot... I couldn't believe how beautiful everything was!

He showed me around and we talked about everything. He then told me he got my favorite dessert... cannoli!

I was still freaking out, taking pictures with my phone, worried because I did not have my camera. He then told me to calm down and come sit down. Once I sat down, I was looking at everything he had done. And then... he started walking toward me with a little box.

Kamron then asked me if I would marry him and I believe my first response was "sure" then I said wait I guess I should say YES! "

We had the opportunity to plan Jennifer and James wedding a year ago and now they are about to have their first baby, so Jennifer contacted us to do her baby shower we were ecstatic. So happy to share the Real Men's Event, we had the opportunity to work on this event with Stephanie from Relish and Elegant Diamonds. The main purpose of this event, was to allow men to come out before the Holidays to pick out the perfect diamond, while sporting their favorite NFL team and hanging out with the "MEN"! Eating wings, watching football, buying diamonds, and getting free gifts, couldn't get any better than that! This event was a huge success and we are looking forward to doing it again this year! New Years Eve 2011 Wedding

Ashley and Travis's wedding took place at the lovely 3rd Avenue South on New Year's Eve. They had both ceremony and reception at the same venue, which made it very easy to transform from ceremony to reception with the elegant draping and up lighting. With our large white trees and Village of Flowers amazing sliver stick centerpieces, it really helped turn Ashley and Travis's wedding into a winter wonderland. If you are interested in renting our white trees, we currently have 6 and they are great focal point for a room. Also, below are a few still pictures from Rossi Wedding Films. I love this tape, it's not just any tape you can buy in the stores! Happy Tape is a Japanese Washi tape that has patterns and various designs to choose from. This is a great idea if you are trying to add a personal touch to your wedding gifts or have a certain color you want to tie in your programs. Some ideas are wrapping them around tin canned candles, putting different pattern stripes up the side of the vases, add it to the front of guest book, making a picture frame and making decor by cutting different sizes pieces and hanging it on a small string. We had the opportunity to help out with these great winter wonderland windows at Arzelle's. In the pictures below are Nashville Event Plannings white trees and some winter decor, if you are interested in renting our trees for a wedding/event please contact us. For the theme they wanted a white/sliver winter bridal wonderland. To start, different size white sticks were hung from the ceiling with snowflakes and small Christmas trees upside down. In window number two they displayed our small white tree accented with snowflakes and various size sliver ornaments. So drive by them on West End and let us know what you think :)

Melody and Daniel......Fall Wedding!

Melody and Daniel are one of those amazing carefree couples and we knew the minute we started working with them it was going to be nothing but fun! Melody & Daniel exchanged vows under a beautiful sunset ceremony, at Andrew Jackson’s home in Hermitage, TN. The reception to follow had a pasta bar and candy bar for guest to enjoy, along with live music provided by the brides brother. The natural color scheme of the fall, made for some beautiful pictures by Mabus Photography. As for the lovely candy bar, we were inspired by the couples red, black, and white rustic theme. Halloween Party Decor Ideas....

I decided to find some ideas for you to use at your Halloween parties or weddings! For decor you could do black flowers, gray, black or orange pom poms above a focal point of the room, and cut a pumpkin in half filled with ice and use for a drink cooler. As for a candy buffet you can use black candy, eye ball gum balls, spider webs for overlays, and different size jars using orange and black ribbon/signs. Mindy and Dan's Planning Process...October 2nd 2010

Mindy and Dan wanted a vintage/southern feel for their decor. The ceremony was held at Good Shepard of Brentwood with a reception to follow at Cool Springs House. The couples going away was fun and different, instead of your standard bubbles or rice the couple decided to do paper air planes. At the reception site we helped transform a plan yard with a barn to a beautiful vintage wedding reception area. Hillary from Brocade Design and her lovely team did all the floral and centerpieces on the tables, which looked amazing! We used our large white trees with bulb string lights along with a few pops of up lighting. For the cake table, Mindy and Dan decided to do different kinds of pies instead of the standard wedding cake...loved this idea and so did the guest....Check out the few pictures by Nashville Event Planning below and the awesome sneak peek picture by Chuck Arlund Photography ( more professional pics coming soon)!

Loretta Lynn's 50th Anniversary in Country Music Event....

For the past 4 months we had the opportunity to help plan Loretta Lynn's 50th anniversary in country music celebration at her ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN. To start the event off Loretta Lynn had a press conference inside her museum, with every media network in Nashville. She answered a few questions about her career and what she will do after she's done. For the event we put up two large tents in the outside parking area. We set up a stage area and projection screen where a presentation/speeches were given in honor of Loretta and her 50 years in country music. Marty Stewart and Crystal Gayle were a few of the speakers. For the decor we did a shabby chic country feel, we used purple and yellow flower decor, Loretta's favorite colors. We tied in sticks, lanterns, mason jars, and a wagon with Loretta's signature Kentucky Moonshine. Table linens; ivory with a gold floral overlay and the gold safari chairs to tie in some gold for her 50th anniversary. The lighting we did a soft auburn with a few pops of purple on the stage lighting. Chef's Market set up food stations with barn doors and various southern foods all of Loretta's favorites: fried catfish, grits, and BBQ etc.... We would like to give a huge thanks to Grand Central Party, Nashville Event Lighting, Nashville Audio Visual, Chef's Market, Branching Out, and Relish Invitation design (Stephanie did the invitations and the record coasters) loved them! Janna and Darren are a great couple and we are honored they hired us to helped them with their special day. The Ceremony was on the lake at the Lighthouse (Hendersonville) and a buffet style dinner was held upstairs, dancing/reception to follow downstairs and outdoor lounge/bar area. The color scheme was yellow, brown, green and a few pops of champagne. For the decor we kept it simple and elegant with string lighting inside and out with a few hints of colored up lighting, and green, white, yellow lanterns to add some pops of color. Jen and Brad gave Nashville Event Planning the opportunity to travel to Ohio and plan their wedding. Jen and Brad exchanged vows at Jen's family church in Hudson, Ohio and had an elegant ceremony to follow at the Sheraton in Cuyahoga Falls, Akron. In the back of the Sheraton there is a beautiful fall that runs along the whole back side (below are a few pics). Her color scheme was Tiffany blue, black and white. The blue up lighting in the ballroom helped highlight the Tiffany blue color scheme. We will miss Malena and Derrick...we helped them through out their whole planning process. Malena and Derrick had both their ceremony and reception at Hermitage Golf Course. The colors scheme purple and pink, went great with the natural landscaping around the ceremony area and we tied the colors into the reception decor. Malena and Derrick decided to go with a candy bar for their guest and it was a hit for the children and the adults! I wanted to share a few trends that are up and coming in the wedding industry...Paper flowers are in the first picture, which is a trend that people are doing more and more. It will help you save on your flower budget and can be a great keepsake to your guest or family. These flowers can be found on http://www.etsy.com/. New colors we are seeing are the warm olive tones, platinum's, and aloe (blue tones)...Also, to add something different to your decor you can make the tea light holders with monogram on them. Hang them on a tree if your having an outside wedding or add them to your centerpieces. Rachel and Jason shared their special day at Jason's parents house in Fairvue Plantation on July 10,2010. The ceremony took place in the backyard over looking the lake under the beautiful gazebo. To follow Rachel and Jason had a cocktail hour around the pool where Chef's Market served cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Rachel's decor was slate blue, cream, tan with a few splashes of light and dark pink in her flowers. The reception was to follow underneath the tent where Chef's Market served a lovely dinner. We wanted to show you a few ideas if you wanted to do a shabby-chic fourth of July wedding. You can pick red or blue as your main color and add a few hints of blue/white or red/white. Also, talk to your photographer and see if they can edit some of the pictures to make the colors very dominant. This blog was inspired by peaches :) above are some great ideas for wedding colors and accessories. OPI peach nail polish is a great way to make your color of your wedding pop! I would do a soft eye shadow like a bare essentials gold dust shadow. I would do a real soft look on your makeup when doing this color, for instance a light peach MAC lipstick with a clear lip plumper to top it off. You can always accessories your bridesmaid with flower hair pieces. If you want to splurge on your bridal shoes Christian Louboutin has a cute pair of peach peep toes.....Love them!
