Joanna and Thomas's Belle Meade Plantation Wedding

Joanna and Thomas are such a fun and free spirited couple. We are excited to share pictures below! Not only did it capture their love for each other but their carefree personalities. Here are some detailed shots of the flowers, reception and ceremony design. The couple wanted their reception very interactive for guest, so we set up several different stations. Nashville Event Planning team is going to miss working with this sweet couple.  Please enjoy pictures below!

A Guide to Wedding Extras

These days, it's rare to attend a wedding that has only dinner, cake and dancing.  Here are a few ideas to get your guest involved!

Interactive food stations
Fall wedding designed by NEP.
You don't have to be a kid to enjoy playing with your food.  Interactive food stations are a great way for guests to feel involved and have fun.  It's best to make sure you have multiple stations to avoid long lines.  I love the idea of a caramel apple bar!  Such a cute idea for a fall wedding.  Other ideas are ice cream bars, pizza stations, root beer float stations and cookie bars.

Coffee Bar
Designed by NEP. Items for rent in picture.

I'm sure the early birds and coffee lovers at your wedding will appreciate this.  Coffee bars are new in the wedding world and they are definitely taking off.  They can be shabby chic, rustic or elegant.  You can also have some hot cocoa and marshmallows for those who don't drink coffee.  We love coffee bars!

Candy buffet
Elegant candy buffet at War Memorial by our team. Candy dishes for rent!
Candy buffets have been very popular for the past few years.  They are great for guests to snack on, especially those who don't like cake, and they can also double as wedding favors. Another plus is that they add beautiful decoration to your reception space.

Cigar bar
Joanna and Thomas Belle Meade Plantation Wedding. Cigar bar designed by our team and set up outside of carriage house. All items for rent in picture!
I love this cigar bar we did for one of our brides.  The guests had a blast with it!  You could hire a certified tobacconist to teach your guests about the cigars and then give the boxes at the end of the night as wedding favors.

Photo booth
Photo booths are probably one of the favorite extras among guests.  When you dress up in ridiculous hats and over sized sunglasses, it's hard not to laugh and have fun.  Photo booths are a great way to get  your guests warmed up and having a good time.  You can do silly accessories or you can do other themes like wild west, chalk board signs and 80's wear.

Wedding games
Mindy and Daniel at the Cool Springs House. Planning and decor by NEP.

Wedding games sometimes get overlooked due to the overwhelming amount of "sweets bars" currently trending. Wedding games are a great way to get your guest mingling. Some fun games you could have at your reception are crochet, horseshoes and corn hole.

Activities for Kids

Be sure to include the kids! Tie some crayons together with a cute ribbon and create a coloring station. One of our brides created a wedding program for the children with lots of fun activities. She includes coloring pages, mazes and puzzles.

When picking your wedding extras, remember that less is more.  The more activities you have, the more time your guests will be spending elsewhere instead of on the dance floor with you.  If you and your guests prefer to mingle than dance, everyone might enjoy a few more extras.  However, if you want your guests on the dance floor then I suggest sticking with one or two of your favorites to avoid taking attention away from the party.  Contact us to set up your perfect reception!
